Chickpea Curry

This is our go-to dinner if we want something really delicious and we have the time to cook. This curry will blow your mind, it's one of our best recipes yet. You can whip up a batch of this curry and eat it with a nice bowl of rice and some mango chutney for a delicious indian twist to your dinner. Enjoy!


Prep time: 40min

Serves 4

What you'll need:

- 3 tbsp olive oil

- 2 1/2 cups chickpeas 

- 1 onion

- 2 cups of tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes

- turmeric

- cayenne

- cumin

- coriander

- garam masala

-lemon juice


Step 1: In a large pan, heat up your olive oil with the cumin.


Step 2: Chop up the onion.


Step 3: Once your oil is hot enough, add the onion, turmeric, cayenne and 3/4 of your coriander.


Step 4: Once your onions have become translucid add the tomato sauce and let the mixture simmer and boil for about 10min on low to medium heat. 


Step 5: Add your chickpeas and simmer for another 15min, or until most of the liquid has been absorbed.


Step 6: Add your garam masala once your chickpeas seem ready and stir in some lemon juice. 


Step 7: Serve with some rice and sprinkle the remaining coriander on top of your plate for some greens.
